Adventure Activities in Houston

Are you an adrenaline junkie? Full of competitive spirit? Enjoy having new experiences? Well check out these 3 places in Houston that are bound to get your heart racing.


1. Glyderz World


If you’ve ever played Mario Kart, then Glyderz World will give you the real life feeling! Grab some friends and drive on the streets of downtown Houston in Go Karts! Glyde through the city on a pro go-kart listening to music via bluetooth.


Things to Note:

  • You need to be 18+ with valid ID

  • Weight limit is 220lbs and height limit is 6ft 2in

  • Cost is $25 for a 30-minute tour and a $10 deposit is due at the time of booking


2. Cidercade Houston


Staying on theme with nostalgic video games, Cidercade Houston has over 275 retro arcade games for you to enjoy. Indulge in some hard cider as you play games like Mortal Kombat, Pac Man, and pinball!


One of our favorite parts is that it only costs $10 for unlimited play! You also have an assortment of 48 different hard ciders, hard kombuchas, hard seltzers, and hard smoothies to choose from.


Things to Note:

  • They are family friendly during the day, but 21+ after 8pm

  • They don’t serve food but you are welcome to bring your own and there are usually food trucks outside


3. Seismique


Check out one of the world’s most immersive art experiences at Seismique. You will interact with over 40,000 square feet of interactive displays by a number of talented artists and engineers. And yes, the Instagram photos and TikToks will be fire.


Things to Note:

  • VIP tickets are $45/person and General Admission is $35/person

  • We definitely recommend VIP since you don’t have to wait in line and gain entry at any time during the date of your ticket

  • No high heels are allowed

  • No stroller, backpacks, luggage, large items, etc. are allowed inside and there is no storage available for these items

  • There’s flashing lights which may affect people


Food & Wine Spots in Houston

Do you consider yourself a foodie? Love enjoying a glass of wine, or 2? Visit these Houston spots to satisfy your hunger, quench your thirst, and enjoy the vibes.


1. Nice Winery


There are numerous wine bars around the city, so finding one to go to is pretty easy. However, if you’re looking for a more upscale, educational wine experience, then we definitely recommend a guided wine class. Houston-based Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chefs and Certified Sommeliers, Ryan Levy and Ian Eastveld host Introductory and Premium Guided Wine Experiences featuring their award-winning wines, chef-crafted accompaniments, and a tour!


Things to Note:

  • Price per person ranges from $50 - $70

  • Classes take between 1 and 2 hours

  • All experiences are communal with mixed groups but you can contact them for private events


2. Trez Bistro & Wine Bar


This Black-owned lively restaurant and wine bar has strong ties to the community, offering a space for local artists to showcase their artwork and live music! Their menu features a wide variety from top wine producing regions of the world including South Africa, United States, Argentina, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Australia. Not to mention, it’s also a great brunch spot!


Things to Note:

  • They have weekly specials including Wine Flight Wednesdays and the Trez Supper Club on Saturdays.

  • Check on any upcoming events they may have such as performances or cocktail-making classes.


3. Post Market


If you’re looking to sample the diverse cuisine Houston has to offer, you can get a taste at Post Market! This food hall offers food for every time of day and for every type of palate. Get shawarma at Arabella’s, birria tacos at Taco Fuego, or sweet and savory crepes at Whisk Crêpes Café.


Things to Note:

  • Onsite parking is free for the first 75 minutes, and $5/hour after that

  • The Post also hosts shows, concerts, and exhibits so be on the lookout for upcoming events


NightLife in Houston

Houston nightlife is elite. You can’t visit Houston without going to some of the best nightclubs in the state. While this definitely isn’t a comprehensive list, we’ll try to include some spots that span across music tastes.


1. The Address


The Address offers a bit for everyone and then some. This one-stop shop offers a restaurant with an expansive menu, a sports bar with over 35 TVs showcasing big-ticket events, and a patio & pool for live events and partying. It is a local favorite Houston nighttime scene.


Things to Note:

  • If you’d like to make reservations here for a section there’s a $200 deposit required that includes 10 free entries

  • Stay posted on events via their Instagram to RSVP and see what moves are happening before you visit


2. The Spot


If dive bars with local DJs are more your style, then we have to recommend the #1 Dive Bar in the city - The Spot. They pride themselves on being a place for “The Culture” and where professionals get unprofessional.


Things to Note:

  • Thursday’s are Ladies’ Night and there’s no cover

  • Their newest location (The Spot EaDo) is a trendy new bar, lounge, and outdoor patio with the same great vibes


3. Barbarella


If you’re looking to dance the night away, then Barbarella is the place for you. This vibrant venue hosts themes every week in their unique video dance club. You’ll likely walk into a space pumping vintage pop or indie music with the most diverse crowd from business professionals to drag-queens.


Things to Note:

  • They have an adjoining balcony that offers a great view of the city’s skyline

  • Be on the lookout for the night’s theme via Instagram or Facebook
